Kagoshima Pork

Shirokuma Polar Bears
Speaking of Kagoshima's summer traditions, "polar bears" are a very
popular type of confectionery for Satsuma girls, with their finely shaved ice and
plenty of condensed milk and fruits.

There is a wide variety of flavors and
fruits depending on the store, such as chocolate, strawberry, matcha, yogurt and
Ujikintoki tea with azuki beans.
Karafunekyo Somen Nagashi
These are the rotating somen noodles made from the clear spring water of
the Tosen Valley, which was selected as one of the top 100 best waters of
Japan.
It is a popular gourmet in Ibusuki and feeds 300,000 customers
from all over Japan every year.
Somen noodles that go around the running water of
glass work are beautiful in appearance and excellent in taste.
Hisatsu Orange Restaurant
The sunset that vividly colors the East China Sea and the summer
mandarin orange fields along the line.
You can fully enjoy the spectacular
scenery unique to the west coast of Kyushu, which is well suited to such orange
scenery, on the Hisatsu-Orenji Railway, which connects Satsumasendai City in
Kagoshima and Yatsushiro City in Kumamoto.
If you find a station along the line
that you like, feel free to get off the train and enjoy
the local specialties, natural scenery, and cuisine of that town.
This is the
best part of traveling on the Hisatsu-Orenji Railway.
Unaju : Eel
Kagoshima Prefecture is Japan's largest eel farm. In particular,
Shibushi City, located at the southern tip of the Osumi Peninsula, is famous for its
eel farming. There is an "eel station" in Shibushi City, where a wide
variety of eel dishes are available, including char-grilled eel, eel bento, eel
rice, and eel bowls!

grilled to perfection
Jumbo mochi
Jumbo mochi is made by sticking two bamboo skewers into the mochi, and it is said that this shape comes from the appearance of samurai with two large and small swords on their waists.
