      Let's take a journey on train window towards Ibusuki city, onboard Express train "Ibusuki no Tamatebako" runing along sparkling blue Kinko Bay.

      A New Challenge in Whiskey Making at the Birthplace of the Honbo Brewery

      AMars Tsunuki Distillery is the southernmost whiskey distillery on the mainland, located in Tsunuki, Kaseda, Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Tsunuki is blessed with a warm climate and high-quality water resources, and is the birthplace of Honbo Sake Brewery.
      For more than 100 years since they began making shochu using sweet potatoes, a specialty of Satsuma.
      They are working on making whiskey in Tsunuki, where they have a thorough knowledge of the water and climate of this area, and pass on the tradition of sake brewing to this day.
