Misasa Onsen

Misasa Onsen is one of the leading hot spring towns in the Chugoku region, located in the central part of Tottori. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, it is a town of famous hot springs with the atmosphere of a traditional hot-spring cure.
Misasa Onsen (“misasa” meaning "three mornings") was named after a disease that was said that could be healed after three mornings of bathing.
As the name suggests, the water boasts some of the highest radon content in the world, which stimulates the metabolism and boosts the immune system and natural healing powers. Just breathing in the steam from the therapeutic baths of Misasa Onsen, surrounded by beautiful nature, has its own benefits.
A short distance away, you can access Kurayoshi, with its old-fashioned townscape, and Nageiredō, located on a precipitous cliff, making this hot spring town an ideal base for a trip to central Tottori.

Stroll through retro town

If you are staying at Misasa Onsen, why not take a walk through the retro atmosphere of the hot spring town at night?
Walking through the streets in yukata, with the clopping sound of geta (wooden clogs) echoing in the air, you'll feel like you've stepped back 50 years into Japan.
If you get a little tired, we recommend taking a break at one of the footbaths.
